Sonde Overview:
The Vivax-Metrotech Sonde is a self-contained battery powered transmitter. The user can propel it through a non-metallic pipe or duct in order to locate the pipe. Once the sonde is in the pipe, the user can locate the transmitter sonde on the surface with a sonde locator or utility locator that has sonde mode.
Vivax-Metrotech transmitter sondes are specifically designed for receivers with frequencies of 33kHz, 9.82kHz, 83kHz, and 512Hz. So please note that you will need to choose one of these frequencies before purchasing. See our Sonde Chart for a comparison of available sondes. Why the Options:
Sondes come in a variety of sizes and frequencies. These variations are important when you are working with different size pipe at differing depths.
